Ninjutsu Training & Weapons

The history and art of ninjitsu is a long and mysterious one, hundreds of years, and countless lives went into the preservation into one of the most enigmatic practices in world history. The only reason we know as much as we do is the eventual obsolescence of ninjitsu leads to the printing of a ninja manual. We now have a much greater insight into both the mindset and technical aspects of ninjitsu and how the utilized the training and tools to accomplish things before thought unachievable.

Many ninjitsu techniques revolved around using tools and weapons in new and unconventional ways to confused and mislead their adversaries. Disguises were used to trick the enemy into thinking the ninja were one of them and multiple teams of ninjas would accost from different directions so armies would not know from what the direction the main force was truly coming from. These misdirection techniques were sorted loosely by an affinity element. For example, starting a fire would fall under katon-no-jutsu (fire technique) and sneaking through a moat using a tool to breathe while underwater would fall under suiton-no-jutsu (water technique).

Many of the tools used to practice ninjitsu doubled as weapons and vice versa. A cane sword or flute dagger would help enhance a disguised assassin and a kunai or a sword can be used as a stepping stool to reach a roof or high wall. For the ninja, adaptation was their greatest tool, and unpredictability was their greatest weapon. Again and again, the ninja proved themselves and effective and devastating force by acting in ways their enemies could never predict.

Ninjutsu tools and weapons for ninja training

We offer these replicas not as weapons, but as tools that were used to facilitate some of the most creative tactical thinking of its time. A team of four silent warriors could take down an entire castle in a night, or a single person could delay an army long enough to evacuate a town. Ninjas proved that it was wit, not might, that could turn the tide of any battle and each one of these replicas is a testament to that very ingenuity.

All of our replica ninja weapons and tools that we have on sale here at Ninja Gear are intended to be as authentic as possible. That means that you will be holding copies of the katana that were used to contain blinding powder and use and a leaping point to cross wide gaps. The throwing knives we offer were the same as the ones used to create peepholes in mat floors and knock out a guard from a distance. You’ll be able to feel the history they molded and changed in your hands each time you pick them up.

We want you to feel close to the history of these secret warriors and assassins, want to know why they chose to take a path to change the way battlefields were shaped for hundreds of years to come. We know you feel the same awe and respect for that that we do and we want to give you the chance to feel that every day.
